Who are we at Funniest Tweets? A group of educated, middle-class day-job folk who share a common bond - taking comedy seriously. We have been using Twitter since its inception. We're good at it. We have followed (and unfollowed) pretty much everybody who is anybody in the comedy business, and have some very strong opinions about who's REALLY funny. Strong enough that we felt compelled to build this site to share our insights and pass along to you our collective knowledge of who regularly produces the funniest tweets. These are not the usual suspects. We've long ago rejected @aplusk, @johncmayer and the other so-called kings of twitterdom. We are also over the reliably funny but overexposed likes of @sarahksilverman and @rainnwilson, whom it seems everybody and their grandmother is following. We crave fresh blood! Lasty we are disappointed with the multitude of comics we followed and then had to unfollow because, though their acts are smart and hilarious, it turns out they tweet boring, lame unfunny bullshit yet gather zillions of followers simply because they are famous. Yes we are talking to you, @eddieizzard and @robriggle. Our list consists of people who get paid to be funny for a living as well as the unintentially hilarious, who: (1) have fewer than 10,000 followers, (2) we think are brilliant, (3) tweet regularly [but not copious @DeepakChopra quantities] and who (4) just plain crack our shit up on a daily basis. And by us I mean an anonymous group of smart, liberal douchebags who think they know comedy and actually pay attention to content. Want to follow us? Don't bother. Follow these people, they're funnier.
