THE FUNNIEST TWEETERS IN TWITTERLAND
|
1. @SEANKENT - follow
Name: Sean Kent
Location: Inside your head
Web: http://www.seankent.com
Bio: I'm a standup comic and a beautiful human being.
We discovered standup comedian Sean Kent last year when members of our group witnessed his first place finish in the 30th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition, and then a week later saw the champ perform two completely different hour-long powerhouse sets back-to-back at the Comedy Underground. So we can say with authority that this guy is GOOD.
A brilliant standup act does not necessarily indicate hot Twitter talent (as evidenced by @eddieizzard), but Sean's sardonic wit perfectly suits the medium - and in our humble opinion he is hands down the #1 funniest tweeter we have come across yet, bar none.
We have a sneaky feeling this guy is going to be moving up fast, so follow him now and say you were there when... well, you know the story.

2. @WILLDURST - follow
Name: will durst
Location: the 415
Web: http://willdurst.com
Bio: sworn enemy to all tyrants, foreign and domestic. comic. author. columnist. commentator. margarine smuggler. cheeseburger acolyte. big fan of 1st amendment.
Known as a longtime political satirist and a self-described purveyor of "Comedy for People Who Read or Know Someone Who Does," Will Durst has been around FOREVER. He is one of our alltime favorite tweeters, yet to date has a paltry few hundred followers.
The perfect mix of old-school style meets new-school material, one can always rely on Will to say something that you wish you had thought of about the current goings-on.
In short, reliably hilarious - and politically astute.
Follow him.

3. @escarius - follow
Name: pete johansson
Location: Muswell Hill, England
Website: http://www.petejohansson.com/
Bio: Stand up comic, traveller, playful thinker.
Best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009, Pete Johansson is an impressive comedic talent hailing originally from Canada and now stomping gleefully around the hills and dales of England getting English people to make noise among their teeth. And he also goes other places to say funny things to people.
His tweets are hilarious, self deprecating, and weird. We love them and so will you.

Daily tidbits and words of wisdom abound when you follow Mr. John Fugelsang.

Fugelsang! Fugelsang! Fugelsang!

5. @ATRIOS - follow
Name: Atrios
Location: Philadelphia
Web: http://www.eschatonblog.com/
Bio: sucky blogger
A few among us followed John Cusack aka @shockozulu for a while, and his annoyingly frequent tweets were funny on occasion but mostly consisted of kooky and drunk ranting. However, in doing so, due to various RT's by the boombox-weilding activist, we got turned on to @atrios - otherwise known as Duncan Black from Philadelphia and the author of Eschaton Blog.
Following the liberal-leaning trends in the political realm as well as random crap and goings on, Atrios is consistently funny in a bland, beer drinking sort of Philly bloggy way - which has grown on us!

6. @DaveSFoley - follow
Name: Dave Foley
Location: often LA, but not often enough
Bio: I'm a less famous version of me 5 years ago.
Remember Kids in the Hall?
These are the Daves I know I know... These are the Daves I know!
Dave Foley is still working, still filming, still Canadian, and is still pretty damn funny.
He seems to be getting the hang of the new technology and Twitters sporadically, but has less than 10,000 followers so there you are folks!

7. @thesulk - follow
Name: Alec Sulkin
Location: Los Angeles
Bio: Breaker of Swift Mustache Hairs
Alec Sylkin is known as writer and producer of the Family Guy, but is now becoming known as a no-holds-barred Twitterer. Hilarious and off-putting, his tweets are funny and make you cringe at the same time.
Update: apparently Alec is dating Sarah Silverman, so he will likely be gaining followers at an alarming pace and therefore graduating from this site. However, at time of this posting he is still under the 10,000 mark.
